The Road to La Jara

The Road to La Jara, 8 x 8 inches, acrylic on masonite, $85
The beginning of the scenic back road to Abiquiu and Santa Fe from NM 44 just north of Cuba.  Yes, there's a town called Cuba in New Mexico!  A wide spot in the road with some great New Mexican food in a few tiny restaurants which have been there forever (i.e. since I was young).

Flor de Jamaica

Flor de Jamaica, 8 x 8 inches, acrylic, $85

AKA hibiscus flower.  Two large bushes outside my front door provided the live model.  The dried flower petals are used to make a delicious beverage known as agua or refresco de jamaica.
